This history of Radlett Cricket Club is an ongoing project and all members and friends are most welcome to contribute.
It started in 2005/6 by club colt, John Mansell, as a Haberdashers’ Aske’s School Social and Community Service Project.
It was based initially on the extensive work carried out by Charlie Randall (et al) in producing the centenary book in 1984. To this was added excerpts and photographs from Cricket in Hertfordshire by R. G. Simons (with permission) and valuable information from Mike Dexter and John Tattersall.
Work ceased until the Autumn of 2013 when Colin Mansell decided to pick up on his son’s work and move it to a modern platform. The initial work was completed over the winter of 2013/14 with much of the data moved to the new website.
The project started again briefly in the winter of 2014/15 aimed at completing the updating and then enhancing the information before the start of the 2015 season.
It is now 2019! The history has secured a new location and Colin will be doing his best to secure some support to further enhance the site. Some of the old features such as timelines, now no longer work. This means further updating to the delivery system is needed on top of adding in new content.
Colin, together with Charlie Randall, hope to collect together as much of the vast historical information that exists in documents, photographs and in the memories of our past players and older members!
We are particularly interested in adding more ‘colour’ to the history in the form of both copies of old photos and wonderful anecdotes of memorable club events both on and off the field.
